Former Super Eagles captain , Mikel Obi, has been tricked into posting a fake comment by Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder , Ruben Neves .
The fake post had Neves making a reference to how young midfielders at FC Porto were all tasked to make Mikel their reference point as midfielders.
The post quoted Neves saying , “ At Porto , all midfielders were given DVDs of Mikel to take home and study every day. We used to call him the professor of football. ”
Mikel , who failed to crosscheck the post replied the quote , “ I am honoured . ”
The quote first appeared on
Twitter on March 24, 2019 and had been termed as fake , as it could not be linked to any news outlet.
Mikel , 32 , featured for Chelsea between 2006 and 2017 and was capped by the club 372 times, scoring six goals and 13 assists .
The ex – international currently plays for Turkish side Trabzonspor.
